 Nigeria will distribute rice varieties to rural women

The Ministry of Women's Affairs of Nigeria will distribute 26,000 tons of different types of rice to women in rural areas to reduce the cost of rice and develop its production and the country's food supply.

The Minister of Women's Affairs, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, stated this while speaking at a press conference ahead of the celebration of the International Rural Women's Day, which will be held on October 15.

She said, "A Chinese company donated 26,000 tons of rice to the Ministry".

Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye called on the women to support the farmers with tools in order to reduce the hardships of the rural women so that they can get more crops.

She added that Mrs. Remi Tinubu, the wife of the President of the country, will distribute 151 million agricultural tools to rural women.
