The Kano NNPP government has gone too far, says the APC
The new NNPP administration of Abba Kabir in Kano state, in the north of Nigeria, has come under fire from the opposing party APC for demolishing buildings.
The Kanon government was accused by the party of going too far in taking this action during a press conference conducted by the party on Tuesday.
Alhaji Shehu Maigari, the party's deputy chairman, urged people whose properties had been destroyed to use sharia law to reclaim their rights.
He said that the Kanon government's actions had led to the involvement of the state's youth in property theft and destruction.
According to reports, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the new governor of Kano, personally oversaw the demolition of a few structures that were allegedly constructed illegally.
Alhaji Shehu Maigari argued that Abdullahi Umar Ganduje's administration was not the first to distribute land in Kano, and he urged parents to counsel their kids against participating in robbery and theft-related crimes.
Then he urged the state's security services to work more to uphold their obligations to safeguard the citizens' lives and property.
