Some European countries and the United States have vowed to help Israel
France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and the United States issued a joint statement, condemning the attack by Hamas on Israel and promising to help the country defend itself.
The announcement was made after the meeting between British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, US President Joe Biden, French Emmanuel Macron, German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The countries expressed their displeasure over the attack by Hamas on Israel, which they described as terrorism, especially as they said that the group killed people they did not see without arresting others.
Support Israel
The leaders said that their countries will support Israel in its efforts to protect itself and its people from such atrocities by Hamas.
The statement added that the five countries recognized the legitimate interests of the Palestinian people, and supported the equality and justice of self-determination between Israel and the Palestinians, but they said that Hamas did not make the necessary contribution to the Palestinian people, other than terrorism and bloodshed.
Continue to cooperate with Israel
The leaders of the countries said that in the coming days, they will continue to cooperate as friends of Israel, to ensure that it can defend itself, and to lay down the conditions for peace in the Middle East.
On the last day of Abasar, the Hamas group launched an attack on Israel which killed more than 900 people from the Israeli side and injured more than one thousand others.
