Tinubu Suspended CBN Chairman
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, who is in charge of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will be fired right away.
This was done because of the probe into his office and the changes made to the country's financial system.
This was said by Mr. Willie Bassey, who is the Director of Publicity for the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government.
The statement says that President Tinubu told Mr. Emefiele to give his job to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) right away. The deputy governor will take over as acting governor of the central bank CBN until the investigation is over and the suggested changes are put into place.
