Saudi Arabia gave Ghana a place for pilgrims, so Ghana goes to fill it.

At least 900 people have arrived in Saudi Arabia, which is known as the "Holy Land." The first and second flights to Saudi Arabia went from Tamale Airport in Northern Ghana.

ACCRA, GHANA - Ghana's Hajj Authority hasn't been able to fully recover from Saudi Arabia because of the high cost of this year's Hajj. Some people have used visas to go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, while others have gone through neighboring countries like Niger, Nigeria, and Togo.

Alhaji Ben Abdallah Banda, the head of the Ghana Hajji Board, confirmed this by saying that the Saudi Board has given 6000 seats, which he doesn't think can be filled because they can only get 4000 Hajjis.

He also said that they expect more than that to pay for Hajj before the last flight leaves, since people are still paying for it.

Lhaji Banda said that the deal the Ghana Hajj Board made with the owners of airlines, hotels, and people who help Hajj guests get around is based on how much money they were able to get.

Alhaji Abdul Rahman Gomda, who is in charge of communications for Hajj in Ghana, said that this year's Hajj has never been done before in Ghana's history of Hajj.

In a chat with Hajj pilgrims who left from the airport in Tamale, Ghana, in the north of the country, they said that this year's plans were good.

Alhaji Tahiru Ejura, a person from Hajia Salamatu, said that they would get everything as easily in Saudi Arabia as they did in Ghana.

Alhaji Papa Angola has been listening in on Ghana's Hajj for more than 20 years. This year, he said that he thinks the Ghana Hajj Board won't be able to meet the required number of quarters if Saudi Arabia doesn't stop giving Visit visas. He said that Saudi Arabia is not like Nigeria and should stop giving Visit visas.
