APC Disapproves of Abba's Destroying Kano
The NNPP government in Kano State, headed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been denounced by the state's opposition party, the APC, for what it calls "an attack on the community's property."
The APC stated that "today Kano is a pity because of the situation the NNPP has thrown the state into" in a statement addressed to the media by the acting chairman of the party in Kano state, Hon. Shehu Maigari.
The NNPP and the Abba Gida-Gida administration were accused by the APC of placing businessmen in a precarious position and claiming that all commercial activity in Kano had ceased.
The NNPP's decision to destroy several businesses in the state, according to the APC, has allegedly transformed some Kano youths into robbers who are now prowling the streets with firearms and breaking into people's shops to steal things.
The opposition party also urged parents to pay attention to their kids, particularly the youths who it claims the NNPP administration is exploiting to ruin the community's property.
When the APC government was in charge of the state, it sold properties that the NNPP party and Abba Gida-Gida claim belonged to the people of Kano.
A few days after Kano's new governor was sworn in, Abba Kabir Yusuf began razing buildings on property he claimed belonged to the city's residents, including the Daula Hotel, the state pilgrims' camp, and the main Eid grounds. Kano.
